Welcome to Lindos! With its whitewashed houses, ancient acropolis, and breathtaking beaches, Lindos is a must-visit gem on the island of Rhodes. But whether you’re landing at Rhodes Airport or starting your trip from Rhodes Town, getting here can feel a little overwhelming. That’s why we created this no-nonsense, updated guide for 2025 with everything you need to know about transportation options, prices, tips, and what to expect.

🚌 How to get to Lindos by Public Bus – Budget-Friendly

Route: Airport → Rhodes Town → Lindos

Cost: ~€8.50 (€3 + €5.5) total per person

Travel Time: 2.5 to 3 hours

The public bus is the cheapest way to get to Lindos, and a good choice if you're traveling light and don’t mind a slower journey.

If you're coming from Rhodes Airport, there is no direct bus to Lindos. You'll first take a RODA city bus from the airport to Rhodes Town central bus station (near Mandraki Harbor). This takes around 35–40 minutes and costs €3.00.

From Rhodes Town, you'll board a KTEL Rodou bus to Lindos. This is a longer ride — about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic and stops — and costs €5.50. The buses are air-conditioned, luggage is stored below, and tickets are paid on board.

Important tip: In high season (June–September), buses from Rhodes Town to Lindos leave approximately every 30–60 minutes, starting at around 06:15 and continuing until approximately 21:15–22:15. In lower seasons (spring and autumn), frequency drops to every 1–2 hours, and the last bus may leave as early as 18:00.

Returning from Lindos: Buses run back to Rhodes Town throughout the day. The last return bus in high season is usually around 20:00–21:45. Always check the latest timetable on the official KTEL website or at your hotel.

Drop-off point: The bus stops at the Krana area, just above Lindos village. From there, it’s a 5–10 minute walk downhill into the village center. The return pickup is from the same point.

Pros:

  • Cheapest option

  • Regular departures in high season

  • Air-conditioned coaches

Cons:

  • Requires a transfer if coming from the airport

  • Long total travel time

  • Can get crowded in summer

  • Not ideal for travelers with heavy luggage or limited mobility

🚗 OPTION 2: Taxi or Private Transfer – Fast & Hassle-Free

Route: Direct from Airport or Rhodes Town to Lindos

Cost: €65–€75 (daytime), up to €130 at night

Travel Time: ~1 hour

Taxis and pre-booked private transfers are the fastest and most comfortable way to get to Lindos.

From Rhodes Airport, you’ll find taxis waiting outside the arrivals area 24/7. A ride to Lindos during daytime hours will cost around €75, including basic fees and luggage. Night fares (from midnight to 5:00am) can nearly double, so expect to pay up to €130 if arriving very late.

From Rhodes Town, a taxi to Lindos costs about €65–€70 and takes under an hour.

Private transfers can be arranged in advance through services like Welcome Pickups or local providers. These are especially convenient if you need extras like child seats or minivans for groups.

Drop-off point: Taxis cannot enter the pedestrian-only village center, but they can take you to Lindos’s main square above the village or directly to hotels outside the core.

Pros:

  • Fastest and most direct option

  • Great for families, groups, or travelers with luggage

  • Available 24/7

Cons:

  • Significantly more expensive than other options

  • Not ideal for solo travelers on a budget

🚐 OPTION 3: Shared Shuttle – Balance Between Cost and Comfort

Route: Airport → Lindos hotels (shared drop-offs)

Cost: €15–€20 per person

Travel Time: 1.5 to 2 hours

Shared shuttles are pre-booked and group passengers with similar arrival times. They’re a good compromise for travelers who want a balance of cost and convenience.

You’ll be picked up at the airport and dropped off directly at or near your accommodation in Lindos. Be prepared for possible delays while waiting for other passengers and multiple stops en route.

Pros:

  • More affordable than taxis

  • Door-to-door service

  • No need to navigate transfers

Cons:

  • Travel time varies depending on stops

  • Must be booked in advance

  • Limited flexibility for return times
